From March 2022 to April 2023, Cewas supported the Queretaro Water State Commission (CEA Queretaro) in Mexico in implementing the Water Integrity Management Program. This initiative aimed to improve the water utility’s performance and service by optimising its business model and fostering a culture of integrity. In June 2022, 85 members of CEA Queretaro participated in a workshop to analyze their integrity risks and select key integrity instruments to mitigate them.
As a result of this initiative, CEA Queretaro now has an anti-corruption policy and a comprehensive program to train and engage its personnel. Additionally, it has begun installing water meters in critical areas to reduce complaints. This project, which concluded in April 2023, was conducted within the framework of the Integrity Management Program in Latin America, with support from the Inter-American Development Bank and in association with WIN and SIWI.
