From March 2022 to April 2023, cewas supported the Queretaro Water State Commission (CEA Queretaro) in Mexico during the implementation of the Water Integrity Management Program. This initiative aimed to improve the water utility’s performance and service by optimizing its business model and fostering a culture of integrity. In June 2022, 85 members of CEA Queretaro participated in a workshop to analyse their integrity risks and select key integrity instruments to mitigate them.
As a result of this initiative, CEA Queretaro now has an anti-corruption policy, a comprehensive program to train and engage its personnel, and has begun installing water meters in critical areas to reduce complaints. This project, which concluded in April 2023, was conducted within the framework of the Integrity Management Program in Latin America, implemented with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank, and in association with WIN and SIWI.
