The Swiss Bluetec Bridge, active from 2012 to 2020, was a key driver of innovation and sustainable growth in the water and sanitation sector. Implemented by Strategos in collaboration with Cewas, the programme supported Swiss businesses and social entrepreneurs through a combination of financial support, expertise, and strategic networking, catalysing transformative change.
Through loans totalling 250,000 CHF, it enabled ventures to validate technologies and business models, strengthening their capacity to scale. Beyond financial support, the programme fostered knowledge exchange and expanded networks, connecting innovators with the Swiss water sector and creating opportunities for collaboration.
The impact of the Swiss Bluetec Bridge was significant. Supported ventures reached over 1 million customers, generated more than 10 million CHF in additional funding, and contributed to the creation of over 840 jobs. By empowering innovation and enabling scaling, the programme played a crucial role in advancing sustainable solutions and improving access to essential water and sanitation services.
Its legacy continues through the lasting impact of the businesses it supported, demonstrating the power of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and targeted support in driving systemic change in the water sector.
